Tumaini Smiles Documentary

In 2009 Think Kindness challenged two schools to collect shoes for an orphanage in Nyeri, Kenya. In less than 60 days, the students gathered over 8,000 pairs of shoes! The team decided to travel to Kenya and film the 6,000 mile journey to the orphanage and film the impact a "used" pair of shoes can have on a child in need. What the team found out, is that a pair of shoes i more than just that. A pair of shoes = education = health = individuality.

However, what took the team by surprise, where the "banana" smiles. Each orphan had tremendous stories of suffering, disease, death, violence, bloodshed, and abuse. Yet, each child had the ability to smile and love each brand new day. Therefore, the team decided to name the documentary "Tumaini Smiles".
